Mariángeles started her early professional career in The Dominican Republic and Haiti working for the OEA (Organization of American States) and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations) promoting European Entrepreneurial Investment in rural areas of The Dominican Republic and Haiti under the umbrella of Social Corporate Responsibility.
In 2004 she moved to Ecuador to open United Nations Global Compact Agency there, with the aim of identifying and developing business opportunities under the SDG´s principles.
Becoming specialized in REACT with United Nations (Rapid Expert Assistance Conflict Team) she worked with SCANTEAM CONSULTANCY in Norway, being part of the evaluation of some MultiDonor and Reconstruction Funds of the World Bank and United Nations; i.e. IRFFI (Iraq), UNMISET (Timor Leste), Multi Donor Trust Fund for Iraq with regard to economic development. Other collaborations took place within UNDG evaluation (United Nations Development Group) in Mozambique and Yasuni Ishpingo Tambococha Tipunini Trust Fund, UNDP (United Nations Development Group), Ecuador.
Later on, she shifted to the private sector gaining many years of experience in the commercial real estate area, specifically working in the commercialization, opening and management of some main shopping centers and franchising; some of them related to Grupo Número 1.
She was offered by the ex President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Adán Martín to join Foundation ILD (Institute for Liberty and Democracy) Canary Islands- Perú in Cape Vert as Manager for the Canary Islands Delegation.
After this, she joined INTERGAL (Entrepreneurial Internationalization Services) as Commercial Director for Western Africa. Some years later, she came back to work for the Canary Islands Government as Export Manager in charge of internationalization strategies for some companies under the European Union Mandate.
In April 2016 she joined SHEMS CAPITAL as Development Manager, focusing on corporate internationalization strategies and foreign trade operations.
In 2019 she came back to focus on internationalization in Gran Canaria and assessed Canarian and Cape Vert (Macaronesia) SME´s with internationalization strategies within INNOMAC European Union project (Cabildo de Gran Canaria).
She joined Kokoon in 2020 in order to materialize Kokoon La Aldea using her expertise not only in Social Corporate Responsibility regarding International Investment, but her knowledge of tourism (especially at a luxury level), health, sports, renewable energies and whole communities development projects.
Mariángeles counts on an MA in International Relations: “Development Cooperation, Foreign Trade and Management of European Union Subsidies, an MA in International Investment and Tax Policy Assessment,”and a Graduate Certificate in Distributions, Logistics and Foreign Trade. She holds two Bachelor´s Degrees: BA in Politics and Sociology and a BA in Translation and Interpretation. English and French (main languages).
